There's a slightly unknown yet darling little preserve in leeds called Red Cliffs Desert Preserve
Although this area is quite gorgeous, and has no shortage of hikes, I only had three hours this afternoon and took a rather easy stroll up the dried creek bed. There were a few areas, three or four I can remember, that were somewhat difficult to navigate, but no gear was required. The preserve offers many trails, and the views are very nice.
